Take a look at this beauty! Tons of greens coupled with the most beautiful tomatoes I’ve ever had under my own roof. Farm Fresh to You really outdid themselves this time, and after watching the movie Ingredients this week I have even more respect for CSA farms and what they do for the local community!
My haul this week included the following fresh and delicious items:
1 lb. assorted potatoes (I think they’re sweet potatoes?)
1 lb. assorted tomatoes
6 Valencia oranges
1 ruby grapefruit
1 bunch of beets
1 bunch of baby fennel
1 bunch of red radish
1 bunch of green onions
1 head of kale
1 bunch of cilantro
I’m most excited about these beautiful tomatoes –
But I am also looking forward to using these green onions (first time I’ve had them!)
And I love the color of these potatoes (can someone tell me if they’re sweet potatoes?), literally I’ve only had sweet potato fries at a restaurant, so I don’t know if this is what they start as…don’t laugh:
Finally, check out the shape of these radishes! I’m absolutely in love with the odd shaped produce I get with every CSA box, there’s so much diversity! It reminds me that local grown produce can all look different because it’s not genetically modified factory farm food that is only accepted in one size, shape, and color.
As always, if you’re interested in sharing recipes from your CSA box, check out In Her Chucks blog and join her link up party! Everyone links recipes using items from their recent CSA boxes. Details are at the bottom of her most recent post, HERE. It’s fun to see what other people come up with!
